Scissors, old jars, glue,
pearls, wire, coloured, papers, stencils, cutters and printouts scattered all
over the table – Christmas season came with a rush and Mirakolix is preparing!
Yesterday the Reshape Urban Places project organized
their second Sezatoare Urbana. Whereas the last Sezatoare involved a
selfmade-printing-workshop, this one was all about creating Christmas presents
using recycled material. Our participants could create tea light glasses by
wrapping self-cut paper Christmas stars around old jars or cut wine bottles.
We also offered the possibility
to print again – and our guests made the very best out of it.
However beautiful the printed
shirts and the candles were, they could not compete with the newspaper origami!
Some of us really went crazy about these little Christmas stars and Egle folded
a beautiful fir tree, using old advertisement.
Huge amounts of money are
spent each year on Christmas presents – store-bought gifts which are often
impersonal. That is why we wanted to offer the youngsters of Brasov an
opportunity to create their very own and sustainable give-aways. With success! Some
good prietenii or a dear bunica will be very happy this year …
