Ceva De Preparatie

Well, here we are. 37 days left until it starts. 37 days, that means 5 weeks and 2 days, 888 hours, 53280 minutes..
But what is IT?
IT is Ceva de Vara.. as I now realise, not mentioned too often on this blog, so it's even more worth telling the story behind.

For this, let's travel in time again, exactly 327 days back, to the 19th July 2014.
We are in Intorsura Buzaului, a small town not too far from Brasov, we are at a camping site and we can hear a lot of noises, smell loads of things and be flashed by all the colors. This is the moment when the international volunteers of Mirakolix who spent their voluntary service here said thank you and goodbye to Intorsura, to the people here, to this time of great experiences.
To realize and put this in action, they started, with the help of local volunteers, to organize a one-day summer festival, dedicated to the whole range of non-formal education. (For all the amateurs out there: that means a lot of activities to build trust, create team spirit, play games, gain awareness for others and themselves.. and of course a substantial phase of relaxation before, during and after the activities).
In the end, it turned out to be a great success, for the volunteers themselves but especially for the community who was offered a chance to try and experience things that they maybe hadn't had before.

So far so good about the historical background, time to switch to the present again:
For us 9 volunteers that we are here right now, it was clear from the beginning to continue this new-born tradition and initiate something like this ourselves as we had loads of activities in Intorsura as well, got to know the people and in a way also the life there. So, we soon decided to take the challenge and make it a two-day festival with colorfulness, activeness, happiness.
Though, it always seemed like a far away moment to me, a thing to take care about later when our projects are coming to a close (pffff so much time left). And suddenly we find ourselves two months before this event, the date is settled and concepts are waiting to be developed, ideas to be realized and daydreams to be put in action. As so often, some goods have to be unloaded from our truck of plans that we try to manoeuvre as safely as possible until the end. We are realizing that we have a limited amount of money, ressources, connections and, here we go again, time.

But at least parts of these limits can be disposed by our actions. That's why we regularly move to the parcs now, to spread the word, win people for our idea or maybe even some cash. We'll go to a kindergarten to offer activities and possibly be supported by parents, we'll offer game rounds to companies and ask for sponsorships and so on. Nevertheless, filling the festival with its content and life will be our right and responsibility eventually.

We will touch upon borders of what we can and want to achieve, things are and are going to fizzle out or run completely different than expected. And there is nothing bad about this.
We know and will experience once, twice, a dozen times more how we can rely on support and people that help us with realizing our ideas.
We will experience how even the most spontaneous plans are becoming a real event which might make people think or become aware of something.
We will be glad of having this put in action.

And until then: Spor la treaba si distractie!

Daniel
