Sezatoare Urbana #3

Did you ever go hiking and your laces broke? Or the tent ropes let you down in a rainy night? Probably all of us have been in situations where we would have chosen a robust cord over 13879634 Lei…

Those who participated at our last Sezatoare can happily announce that these times are over!
Gheorge, an experienced hiker and middle ages enthusiast, showed us how to make survival bracelets. Survival bracelets are made out of paracord (aka parachute cord), a very durable and resistant rope that can be helpful in all kind of situations.  Being both flexible and robust, paracord can hold up to 43 kg – as minimum strength. There are cords that can bear 340 kg…

Hundreds of knotting and braiding techniques exist, but Gheorge decided to take it easy with us starters and teached us a simple loop-knotting method that can be applied by anyone. Two meters of rope are needed to knot a bracelet with this technique. It may seem a lot to some of you, but if you try it out on your own you will see that this amount is required in order to have a nice bracelet and enough survival cord at the same time.

If you would like to try it out on your own check out the link below
